The Fang-tastic Kit

The Fang-tastic Kit!!
The fang-tastic kit, a kit made to fit all your necessities, especially catering to those who tend to carry small, fragile and easy to lose things in rather big bags, this is for y’all!
With its many small and big pockets you can carry all of those tiny things in a single place while still being stored in a portable -and might i say, cute- kit that will always be there when you need it!
This was a problem I was trying to solve because I myself tend to carry many small things in a big bag and sometimes I would lose these objects because of that. And not only that, but I was also in need of making something that I could actually use in my day to day life instead of something that I would only use every blue moon.
However I was also trying to help myself hone my skills with a sewing machine, and even though it was with limited time, it was good practice for making double sided objects.
Making this was not only something fun to do on a friday night but as I said before, it's a good way for me to hone some of my sewing and patterning skills, especially since this was made from zero, not really following any replica patterns or any tutorials. I just saw a random image of a sewing kit that had looked like a cat and I went “what if it was a bat?” and that's how the idea came to me.

Process
First we will start by cutting out the pieces with our fabrics of choice.
Once you have them all cut out they should look like this:
Next we will start the sewing process, starting with the pockets we will start by sewing back one of the short edges and do this for every square.
Once you have the edges sewn together we can start putting the squares in pairs and sewing the other three edges together to give it a clean look, and once you have that you can start sewing them onto one of the backing fabric squares just like this:
(make sure not to sew the opening of the pocket)
Now we will start by sewing the face of the bat (you can use buttons for this one, I just didn't have any) and for that we will use the same fabric we used for our pocket and on them draw two circles and a heart for the nose, and following this guide we will sew it onto the face piece. cut the excess.
After that we will start sewing the very back and the lining of the big pocket. Putting one of them facing up and sewing it to the face piece and the other part to the feet and making sure it's facing back. It should look something like this:

Now it's time to start sewing all the inside pieces together, sew the lining of the back pocket and leave a side open for it to be a pocket, and once you have that you should sew the feet to the middle part and the same with the head. Following that we will sew each wings to the sides, it should look something like this:
Following that, we will start sewing the back parts together, something like this:
We’re almost done now, we must just start putting together the back with the inside, something like this:
And that was the last step, now you have a small kit to use to carry your small and big belongings while having a good friend with you!
